BS ISO 17398: 2004 specifies the requirements of a performance-related classification system for safety signs.

The performance criteria and testing methods are specified in this Standard to ensure that factors relating to photoluminescent (phosphorescent), durability and expected service can be characterised and specified at the time of purchase.

The photoluminescent (phosphorescent) characteristics and performance values are printed on all Everlux signs as per ISO and DIN Standard requirements. This provides consumers with the appropriate information and the guarantee of a high quality product. See the following example:

This brings the signs into alignment with other safety equipment where the technical information is supplied on the apparatus, e.g. extinguishers.

This helps specifiers and consumers to make an informed decisions about which signs to be used.

Certifications and technical characteristics are in the Everlux general catalogue, but the signs themselves have the correspondent trademark and performance printed on them as a guaranty of the conformity and authenticity of the product.
